Electropolished Pipes

VEFLOX supplies Ultra-High Purity (UHP) Electropolished Pipes engineered for the world's most sterile and critical environments. Utilizing an advanced electrochemical anodic dissolution process, we strip away microscopic surface anomalies to create a flawless, mirror-like finish. This strictly controlled process completely eliminates bacterial harborage points and maximizes corrosion resistance for bioprocessing and semiconductor fluid networks.

Detailed Technical Specifications

Polishing Process
Electrochemical Anodic Treatment. Pipes are submerged in a temperature-controlled electrolyte bath and subjected to direct electrical current to dissolve microscopic peaks, resulting in a macroscopically smooth, chromium-enriched surface.
Dimensional Standards
ASME BPE (Bioprocessing Equipment - The global standard for sanitary design).
ASTM A270 (Standard Specification for Seamless and Welded Austenitic Stainless Steel Sanitary Tubing).
Material Grades
Stainless Steel: 316L (Low carbon is mandatory to prevent carbide precipitation during orbital welding).
Exotic Alloys: AL-6XN, Hastelloy C-22 (For highly aggressive active pharmaceutical ingredients).
Surface Roughness (Ra)
Internal (ID): Ra ≤ 0.38 µm (15 µ-in) Max. SF4 standard.
External (OD): Ra ≤ 0.80 µm (32 µ-in) Max. Mill finish or mechanically polished.
Size Range
Available in precise Outer Diameters (OD): 1/2" OD to 8" OD (12.7mm to 203.2mm) with highly controlled wall thicknesses (16 BWG, 14 BWG, etc.).
Cleanroom Protocol
Post-polish cleaning utilizes 18 MΩ Deionized (DI) water heated to 60°C. Pipes are purged with 99.999% pure Nitrogen gas, capped, and sealed in cleanroom polyethylene sleeving.
End Finishes
Plain Square Cut (precision machined for Autogenous Orbital Butt Welding), or pre-fitted with Sanitary Tri-Clamp Ferrules.

Core Advantages

Total Pathogen Resistance

By eliminating microscopic peaks and valleys, the electropolished surface removes the crevices where bacteria, biofilms, and product residue typically harbor, ensuring absolute sterility.

Superior Passivation

The electrochemical process preferentially draws iron from the surface, leaving a chromium-rich oxide layer that is significantly more corrosion-resistant against aggressive CIP (Clean-In-Place) and SIP (Steam-In-Place) chemicals.

Zero Flow Contamination

Unlike mechanical polishing, which can embed abrasive compounds into the steel matrix, electropolishing is a completely non-mechanical process, guaranteeing zero particulate shedding into your UHP fluid streams.
