ERW Pipes

VEFLOX manufactures premium Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) pipes engineered for optimal dimensional accuracy and reliable fluid transport. Formed from high-quality cold-formed steel coils and fused without filler metal using high-frequency induction heating, our ERW pipes offer exceptional concentricity, a smooth surface finish, and a highly cost-effective solution for low-to-mid pressure applications.

High-Frequency Welded

Detailed Technical Specifications

Manufacturing Process
Formed longitudinally from slit steel coils and welded via High-Frequency Electric Resistance Welding (HFW/ERW). The weld seam is subsequently normalized (heat-treated) to ensure a uniform grain structure.
Dimensional Standards
Piping: ASME / ANSI B36.10M
Line Pipe: API 5L (PSL 1 & PSL 2)
Structural: ASTM A500
Material Grades
Carbon Steel: ASTM A53 Gr. A/B, ASTM A135, ASTM A252
API Line Pipe: API 5L Gr. B, X42, X46, X52, X60, X65, X70
Size Range (Nominal Bore)
Outer Diameter (OD): 1/2" NB to 24" NB (21.3mm to 610mm)
Wall Thickness (Schedules)
Sch 10, Sch 20, Sch 30, Sch 40 (STD), and Sch 80 (XS).
Note: ERW process limits wall thickness compared to seamless piercing.
Testing & Inspection
100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of the weld seam via Ultrasonic Testing (UT) or Eddy Current, supplemented by strict Hydrostatic pressure testing.
End Finishes & Coatings
Plain End (PE), Beveled End (BE), Threaded & Coupled (T&C). Coatings include Black Varnish, 3LPE, Galvanized, and Bare.

Core Advantages

Exceptional Concentricity

Because ERW pipes originate from precisely rolled flat steel strips, they boast significantly better wall thickness uniformity and concentricity than seamless pipes.

Cost-Effective Procurement

The continuous induction welding process is less energy and time-intensive than seamless piercing, making ERW the most economical choice for long-distance, mid-pressure pipeline infrastructure.

Optimized Surface Finish

Derived from premium hot-rolled or cold-rolled coils, ERW pipes naturally possess an incredibly smooth internal and external surface, which drastically reduces fluid friction and scale buildup.
